Our Floors Power Professionals

Subfloors
Springstep II
Our superior subfloor system. This is a perfect subfloor for all types of dance. This subfloor should last 20-25 years if properly maintained and built. This floor consists of one hundred and nineteen 2 x 2 pads on the back of a 4 x 8 sheet of tongue & groove, lumber grade plywood with and additional layer of plywood on top.
Springstep IV
This interlocking floating subfloor system covers four square feet per panel with 55% coverage of ¾” L shaped foam pads. It provides excellent energy absorption. This floor can be disassembled and re-installed at a new location as long as the vinyl is not permanently glued in. This subfloor system should last 7-10 years if properly maintained.
CMG Sound Specific Subfloor
This is the perfect solution for Tap, Irish Dance and Flamenco where sound is a key component to performance. This subfloor system will give you a better sound than traditional hardwood with less maintenance. This floating subfloor system provides you with safety and performance at an affordable price. We recommended this subfloor to be combined with Black Timestep vinyl.
Beam Subfloor System
This permanent floating subfloor system is primarily used with unfinished maple or oak hardwood. It can also be used as a subfloor system combined with vinyl by using lumber grade plywood on top in lieu of hardwood to give it that stage feeling that production and theatre need for longevity.

Installation Methods
Re-Use-It System
This method of installation is one that we highly recommend. Re-Use-It is pressure sensitive adhesive that comes in rolls. This is a long term, semi-permanent installation solution. It is stronger than tape and will help prevent bubbling due to climate control changes. *It is still very important to maintain climate control between 65-75 degrees.
Re-Use-It is a good barrier between the vinyl and sub-floor which will help with the telegraphing of the subfloor that you may see with solid colors. It is easier to remove than tape when or if you have to remove the vinyl from the sub-floor in the future. This is helpful if you decide to move from your space, decrease or increase the space, make any potential subfloor repairs or install any type of ballet barres in the future.
4” Double Faced Tape
This method is semi-perminant. We do not top tape our seams. When we leave your studio our seams will be perfect. This installation method is a cheaper solution than Re-Use-It. However, you run the risk of bubbling in the future if the room is not maintained at a climate control between 65-75 degrees at all times and hot with direct sunlight.
Full Spread Glue Down
This is a permanent installation method. This method will not enable you to move your subfloor or vinyl if you should have to move in the future or increase/decrease your studio space. Heat welding is not necessary when using this method of installation. We rarely heat weld seams and do not recommend it. It makes the seams more visible. We feel that heat welding is a very expensive request that is not needed with the exception of Woodstep Ultra.
